Toolbox of Jewelry Skills *NEW for 2018* — Sponsored by Halstead

We all have beads—lots and lots of beads! In this approachable and fun workshop event, you will learn basic jewelry skills that turn boxes of beads into wearable—and sellable—finished pieces.
Moving through a rotation of different stations staffed by knowledgeable instructors, participants will receive hands-on instruction that requires minimal effort and financial investment. Learn how to combine Halstead’s sterling silver chain, findings and components with your glass work to create long-lasting, high-value jewelry. Bring your favorite jewelry pliers and cutters (we will have a few loaners on a first-come basis). Learn a simple chain for interchangeable beads, how to wrap head pins and assemble earrings, the basics of proper crimping and crimp covers, and much, much more! You will leave with handouts and supply lists to pursue these skills in your own studio. Feel free to bring orphan beads and
cabochons for inspiration and exploration of new horizons.www.halsteadbead.com

Pamela Hawkins— Memories Resin Paper Necklace
If you have never played with resin you are in for some fun. Resin itself is
completely versatile, but this instructor finds resin paper transformative. A
seemingly simple piece of paper or tissue will become altered in so many ways.
We will make resin paper from many different types of sheeting to create a
wearable story book pendant. We will be cutting copper sheet to make a name
plate, stamp words into copper, insert eyelets into our paper, weave ribbons
and memorabilia into layers of paper and then construct a necklace with Vintaj
chain and findings. Resin paper and project will be completed in class.
