In this very interesting presentation, the artist will create a shot glass from start to finish. The unique piece is made from borosilicate tubing, and is decorated with a flower and three-dimensional bee hovering near the flower. Through the careful use of frit, stringers, rods of borosilicate, and tubing, you will see from beginning to end how to create one of these fun and quite incomparable glasses.

Rapid Fire Presentation – Marbles!
My lampwork journey started with small beginnings in my kitchen, progressing to a studio, and finally transforming to a teaching studio in South Africa shortly after the 2016 ISGB Gathering. This journey has kept me sane through difficult times. It has taught me that I am not heading to a specific destination, and that I have no limits. And being a member of the ISGB, just helped me to become part of the bead family, to grow faster and share my passion for this wonderful art form. http://lampworx.co.za/

What is a “Rapid Fire Presentation”? It is a chance to hear from three artists with contrasting and complementary work around a single style or idea. This year we have assembled three marble makers in both soft and borosilicate glass who will offer insights into their style of marble making and artistry. Heather Behrendt will present her two-
sided marbles using soft glass and elaborate stringer embellishment. Dichroic glass in borosilicate marbles will be the topic of Polly Toombs. Finally, working larger and witmore complexity will be addressed by Filip Vogelpohl. This
Rapid Fire Presentation offers three for the price of one in an information-filled hour.
