First-time Attendee Orientation

Is this your first Gathering? A little nervous? No need to worry! Meet both new and experienced attendees in a
session designed just for you. Learn a few tips about how to make the most of your time at the Gathering and
get an overview of the conference packet, the facility layout, the commercial and technical vendors area, food
events, The Glass, Beads & Jewelry Bazaar, Silent Auction, Live Auction, torch events, and nearby activities.

Additional Information

What to Wear
In general, simply dress for comfort and for the
indoor and outdoor activities you are planning.
Comfortable walking shoes are important
because the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa
is a very large convention property. Check the
local weather

First Time Attendee Information

The Weather
March and April are great months to be in Las
Vegas. Nice breezes blow through the valley,
and temperatures during sunny days can range from 70 to 78 degrees. For 85% of the year or just over 290 days, Las Vegas is known for beautiful clear blue skies and great sunrises and sunsets.

What to Bring
Bring beads! Beads for the Silent Auction (but
please, try to send these in advance), beads to
share and to trade, beads for the Bead Swap…
beads, beads, and more beads!

Bring a notebook, business cards, a sweater
for those air-conditioned workshop classrooms
and lecture halls, a water or beverage bottle if
you use one, protective glasses, and any tools
you might want or need for the pre-conference
